His favorite album is Off The Wall and his favorite artist is The Jacksons. Beatles, Prince, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind & Fire, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and definitely Eddie Van Helen! His favorite Instruments are the Guitar, Piano, Drums, Bass and Percussion. Austin stayed out of the spotlight in his childhood. He did go on tour with his mother(Rebbie Jackson) in the late 90’s and traveled along with his cousins 3T in Europe in 1997 during the "Brotherhood" tour. Austin played several instruments during showcases for his mother (Rebbie Jackson) in the United States in 1998 and early 2000s, but did not make many appearances in video clips except for 2300 Jackson Street with his family. He has been working on his musical skills in silence. Austin was four years old backstage at his Uncle Michael's "Bad World Tour" when he first realized how he loved music, and then he was able to go on stage during his Uncle Michael's "History Tour" and he realized performing was what he wanted to do. A few years later he started singing and writing songs. He took piano lessons for more than ten years. He took guitar with his Uncle Tito Jackson, who showed him how to play some chords and developed from there. He started recording and making beats around the age of twelve. Austin has wrote and produced some tracks with childhood friend Brandon Howard, who has worked with Missy Elliott and Ginuwine. In 2004 Austin surprised everyone when he signed with Midas Records. He had received offers from several major labels, but signed with Midas because he wanted a one-on-one relationship with the top brass. Austin has written or co-written all the tracks and provided accompaniment on guitar, piano, bass and drums. Also, Austin co-produced many of the album's songs, along with Midas' in-house producer/studio director Andrew Nast. Midas Records' CEO Ron Clapper is the executive producer of Austin's album, which was recorded in Midas Records studio in the San Fernando Valley. Ron Clapper said, “His integrity as a songwriter, purity as a vocalist and sincerity as a performer are qualities that are in perfect alignment with Midas Records’ artistic vision. The fact that he’s a Jackson prodigy is a nice bonus. But the fact that Austin is as completely gifted as an artist in his own right is what really sealed the deal. With his high moral character and squeaky clean lyrics, Austin is an excellent addition to the roster, and will continue the family-friendly precedent that Angel and Midas Records are establishing.” -http://musicology.ipbfree.com/index.php?showtopic=1706 Austin said, "Midas and I are coming up together. It’s such an intense ground-level approach for the project. I love the staff, and they’re driven just like me. We have the same goals."In signing with Midas, Austin continues, "I feel my music will be heard and presented correctly. As a debuting artist, I am going to have more pressure on me than other new artists, just because of my family background." Well-spoken and industry savvy beyond his years, Austin continues, "The style that we are creating is really off-the-wall for my generation by taking the old school feel, updating it to today, and reminding people that it’s OK to be musical, it’s OK to play instruments, it’s OK to love melodies, do harmonies, and dance." In October 2006, Austin announced on a fan site his departure from Midas Records to sign with the major label Interscope Records. Austin said, “I have officially switched label I am not on Midas anymore. I am now an artist officially on Interscope Records!!!! I’ve already worked with The Underdogs, Bryan Michael Cox, Cory Rooney, Benji and Joel from Good Charlotte, Tim and Bob and am about get in the studio and do some songs with Pharrell Williams that are gonna be crazy." In May 2007, Austin has been helped by the choreographer of "Stomp the Yard" David Scott. David Scott says, “Well, I am teaching. I teach around the country and around the world with Pulse, that’s with Broadway Dance Center out in New York and also with Monsters of Hip Hop. I am all over the country teaching. I got some new artists that I am developing right now, one in general is Michael Jackson’s nephew and his name is Austin and he’s incredible so we coming out. We got some stuff that’s gonna hit the streets in a second.” On September 2007, Austin had a chat with his fans on the fan site BBsound that he has finally completed his album. He also said, that he worked with many different people but this album ended being produced by himself, Brandon Howard and Cory Rooney together for three months. Austin said, "The sound of the album is still R & B but, mixed with a lot of synch sounds and fusion. Cory Rooney really helped me to create what I feel is my sound. I did some work with Benji and Joel (from Good Charlotte), we did a crazy duet and I have a crazy collaboration with a huge artist that I can't mention yet but you will love it." In November 2009 Austin thanked the fans for all of their support and promised new and exciting plans to come in the near future and currently there has been pictures of Austin working in the studio with Rodney Jerkins who has helped to produced many artists as well.
